Confirming a report we posted last week, US Weekly is now also saying Katy Perry and Russell Brand are engaged.  Only together since September, sources say Russell, 35, a notorious ladies’ man, asked 25-year old Katy to marry him five days ago while on holiday in Jaipur, India according to US sources.  Sources last week had Russell proposing a couple days earlier during Katy’s visit to London to share her holiday season with the hirsute British star.

Of their romance, a friend tells Us that Perry has “never connected with anybody like this.” As for Brand, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star “is super into her. She says he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world,” an insider says.

In any case it looks like these two have found love and we hope it all works out for them. The trip to India by the way was inspired by Katy’s love of Indian culture which she told Russell about as they were eating curry in England (yum), and so he decided to surprised her and took her there as a Christmas gift.  On Dec. 29, Katy shared this snapshot below via Twitter with Russell in front of India’s famed Taj Mahal. “He built this for me,” she wrote beneath the photo.
